Apple has released OS X 10.10.4, closing 77 security vulnerabilities as part of APPLE-SA-2015-06-30-2 update (
OS X Yosemite v10.10.4 and Security Update 2015-005 ). As usual, most closed vulnerabilities allow attackers to execute arbitrary code in OS X, including system privileges. Apple fixed a known vulnerability in the EFI system (firmware) component called
Rowhammer , which allowed an application to
elevate its privileges in the system. For the EFI system firmware, another vulnerability CVE-2015-3692 was also fixed, which allowed an application with root privileges to modify part of the system flash-memory.
