The number of downloads from the App Store has dropped significantly


In its monthly report, analyst firm Fiksu notes that, compared with April, in the App Store, the number of application downloads fell by 17%. At the moment it is 6.7 million downloads. This conclusion was made on the basis of an assessment of the indicators of 200 top-end free applications.



The cost of acquiring a loyal user also decreased by 10%.



Behind him in the App Store has dropped the cost of installation (Cost Per Install). In Google Play, this indicator, on the contrary, has risen.



Fiksu CEO Micah Adler (Micah Adler) argues that the phenomenon is seasonal and quite natural for the summer months.


Facebook takes the most time for users


Facebook is ahead of the rest of the mobile audience’s attention - such conclusions can be made from the results of the application research conducted by Verto Analytics. If you only consider audience reach, then Facebook and Google are approximately equal, which is about 225 million unique users per month.

But if you look at the time that players spend in these applications, then Facebook is more than twice the nearest competitor, or rather, each user of this social network spends about 14 hours per month (this is 335,000 years per month). Google has an average user spending 4 hours a month, and this is if we consider all their services in aggregate, but even if you add YouTube with its 5 hours, it is still significantly less than that of Facebook.

Google has the advantage that users are scattered across their services more evenly than Facebook. Google users use Maps, Gmail, YouTube and Chrome, while Facebook, although it has WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram, but more than 3/4 of consumers' attention is concentrated on the main application.



Windows Phone came in second place in sales in Russia


Nobody believed, and Microsoft is slowly but surely moving in the mobile market. If you believe the data of Svyaznoy, over the past 5 months, sales grew by more than 100%, and the total share of smartphones based on Windows Phone in Russia grew from 4% to 8%, and, significantly, exceeded the share of devices on the iOS platform.

The main success of Windows in the cheap segment is up to 10 thousand rubles. But Microsoft is an experienced player and understands the importance of entering the mobile market, I am sure, after the cheap segment, expensive devices will be pulled up.
