Good day to all!
Let me introduce myself.
I am the CEO / CTO / CIO / etc. SmartVPN.biz VPN service.
You can call me Viktor Ivanov, since that was my nickname in the SmartVPN.biz customer support service.
A couple of years ago I decided to create my first startup VPN service.
The idea came after about 5 friends asked me for a VPN on my personal server.
Naturally, no analysis of the market, competitors and writing a business plan was not. I just sat down and started coding.
After some time, the project became possible to use - and he saw the light.
')
There were few expenses - personal development time and $ 20 a month for low-end servers.
One and a half year the project was in production. During this time I have a lot happened.
The government is increasingly tightening the screws around the Russian Internet. Residents of Crimea could not use many foreign services. Lots of honest, not at all terrorist sites were blocked.
I am glad that I helped people use the Internet freely, bypassing the stupid bans that no one needs.
Also, our service has twice experienced DDoS attacks, an unforgettable feeling when you realize that someone is interfering with your project.
But time passes, and in a place with him, interests and priorities change. So I decided to stop SmartVPN.biz.
So that my work was not in vain, I decided to send the source code of the service to open source, under the MIT license.
If I understand it correctly, then you can do whatever you want with the code, for example, change and run your VPN services.
This is not advertising, just do not want to work has sunk into oblivion, fork and use:
