Golden Telecom launches Europe’s largest WiFi network

On February 1, the largest WiFi network in Europe will be launched in Moscow. Its owner - Golden Telecom - expects to connect up to 400,000 subscribers by 2010.

Network testing began in late 2006. Currently in Moscow there are approximately 6.7 thousand access points installed. The cost of deploying the network was $ 10 million, writes the network publication Vzglyad, citing the company's manager, Jean-Pierre Vandromme.

The cost of unlimited access to the Golden WiFi network at speeds up to 54 MB / sec will be 500 rubles per month. Hourly rate for one-time users will be 100 rubles. The greatest density of network coverage is within the Third Transport Ring.
