Impressions of the ReMIX conference

The first conference from Microsoft took place in Russia! The action took place in the posh column hall of the House of Unions. A very interesting combination of high-tech with pompous chandeliers, halls, crystal columns rising upwards. It is worth noting the excellent technical organization of the event! Everything that was needed was displayed on a huge screen and was visible from any corner of the room. Organizing shoals during the reports - I did not notice at all. It is very nice!

Briefly about the reports:
- Microsoft now supports php. From the hall was asked about the possibility of the existence of php.Net. At the moment, the prospects for expanding the platform in this direction are not clear.
- The company will work to optimize the work of Apache on Microsoft Server 2008. It is supposed to create the possibility of juggling with LAMP components on the Microsoft platform.
- The bright report was about Power Shell - command line from Microsoft. Now there is much more opportunity to configure your server in a familiar way :)
- IE 8 is learning to understand standards. Throughout the conference, delegates from Microsoft argued that the company had realized its mistakes in the past, and is now actively moving towards their correction.
- Silverlight is becoming a real alternative to Flash. Every day 1.5 million users set themselves a Palagin, and every day this figure only grows.
The culmination of the event was a round table. The start was promising, but unfortunately there was no constructive dialogue. The focus of the discussion was vague.
