Hello!
We once again delight you with the regular weekly build of the Vivaldi browser 1.0.201.2. Much has been done, with the changes in today's assembly mostly visible to the naked eye, and not just hidden in the depths of the code, as it was in the previous version. Now about everything in order.
Search Resource ManagementIn the new assembly, you will be able to evaluate the new interface for managing search resource settings. In our opinion, now setting up search engines looks more intuitive, and, we hope, it has become more convenient to use this function.
')
And - yes, we remember about the sorting of search engines in the list :-) Over time, we will add such an opportunity to this function.
Spatial navigationWe continue to work on improving this feature. Changes here are visible only in the process of using this convenient means of navigating through the elements of the page, therefore we ask those who actively use spatial navigation not to forget to send us their feedback and wishes. It is important for us.
For those who do not like red ...... we have some good news. Now you can turn off the color tabs in the Browser Settings. Here:
However, it was possible to disable color tabs (which, I recall, used the main tone of the favicon) before, while the browser interface became cheerful red. As it turned out, this shade can be perceived not very cheerful, and, sometimes, even quite the opposite. Therefore, we changed the default background color of the browser to dark gray. But here went complaints from users who do not like a strong contrast between the actual pages and the browser itself. We understood our mistake and correct it. Now, when you turn off the colored tabs, you will get the usual calm gray background of the browser interface. At the same time, I cannot fail to point out a small detail that many have asked for: now there is a border between the tabs.
Mouse gesturesAnd another improvement, which, as they say, lies on the surface. A new section dedicated to mouse gestures has appeared in the browser settings, where you can now peek at which gesture corresponds to which action. For now - just spy. In the future, we plan to add the ability to create your own mouse gestures, moreover, do it not manually entering the sequence of movements, but using the same mouse - just draw your own gesture and assign it a command.
A few words about the problemsProbably, it makes no sense to explain that the weekly assemblies contain errors. We don’t yet know about some of them and you tell us about them in bug reports, and we know some mistakes, but we simply didn’t have enough time to fix them by this day. In this build, there may be problems with checking for the presence of a new version of the browser - so we recommend not using manual update checking immediately after launching the browser, it is better to wait 30 seconds and then check for updates.
That's all for now. Download the new assembly can be on the links below:
