Apple has announced OS X El Capitan (v10.11) and iOS 9. In connection with the hype around the exposes of a runaway NSA agent Edward Snowden and information that intelligence services can access these devices, iOS has focused on privacy & security . In addition to the
MAC address randomization and
data encryption using the passcode (iDevice unlock code) already introduced in iOS 8, which no one except the user has access to, iOS 9 passcode has been extended to six characters.

The head of Apple also confirmed that from a technical point of view, iOS 9 does not contain any ability to track user activity or collect any metadata that would identify the owner of the device without
your knowledge (
your device only only ). In this case, Apple devices are much safer than their counterparts on Google Android, which never enabled the default data encryption feature.

Apple also
added support for VPN in iOS and opened an API to work with them (
VPN extension API ).

App Transport Security has been introduced for applications, which allows you to enable HTTPS for network connections.
