Warning for partners of the payment system Rupay

I was asked to make public the following unpleasant situation that occurred between the Rupay and Moneta.ru payment systems.

During the May holidays, money was stolen from Rupay and withdrawn in various ways, one of which was through the Moneta.ru payment system. I do not have information about what exactly happened on the side of Rupei (hacking, phishing or something else), but in the very first working days Rupey froze 900 thousand rubles, which belonged to Coin.

Rupei flatly refused to return the funds to Moneta.ru, arguing that the employees of the “K” department obliged Rupei to stop all withdrawal operations (which is rather strange), as well as by order of the top management. F)

It can be assumed that the money was withdrawn not only to Moneta.ru, but also some part through exchange offices. So the total amount of damage caused by the hackers Rupei was much more than the figures voiced above.

')

As a result, the balance of the Coin was 900 thousand rubles less. Rupei has not yet lost anything, keeps the actual money of the Coin in his possession and awaits the results of the investigation of the “K” department.

I publish only facts and I want to warn both current partners of the Rupey payment system and future ones what situation may arise when working with it. You just may not get your money if, for some reason, they are stolen again from Rupei.

ps This is not a black PR, this is Rupei’s response, which does not fulfill its obligations to its partners and does not want or cannot accept responsibility for its mistakes.

upd. It is worth explaining exactly how the work between Rupey and Coin was built: the Coin user could replenish his account through Rupey, while the requested amount is deducted from the user account in Rupee, credited to the Coin account, and Rupei already credits this amount to the partner account in his system from where it already sends them to the partner’s bank account. As a result, about 900 thousand were written off from Rupey’s user accounts, credited to accounts in the Coin, and real money remained in Rupey on the Coin’s partner account, which is now frozen.

The coin to the users fulfilled all its obligations, transferred them further on the orders of the clients, but no further work on the chain was followed.

I apologize a little for the messy explanation, but I hope you understand the general principle of work.
