Startup Village-2015 in Skolkovo - how it was

On 2-3 June, the “Startup Village-2015” Forum was held in Skolkovo, where companies with their own innovative projects and willing to talk about them participated. Both Russian and foreign companies attended the Forum.
A lot has been said and written about Skolkovo lately. Therefore, it was particularly interesting to look at it all with my own eyes and personally take part in this great event.

As usual, at the entrance to Skolkovo there was a 2-3 km traffic jam. If we take into account that there is a continuous construction around, the road is not fully completed, such a traffic jam is a completely normal phenomenon. But at the registration, someone was lucky, but the queues were quite large, and those who arrived a little later (due to the same traffic jam), stood in the queue for registration for about an hour.
When you finally find yourself inside, you get the feeling that you are in a completely different world. The streets of the participants leisurely stroll
who use different types of transport.
It is evident that until the completion of all construction work is still far away.
The stands were located right in the open
some near the lake
where anyone could even take a boat at the boat station or just relax on the beach.
All rooms for reports were also located on the street under high eaves.
So - the official opening. Arkady Dvorkovich - Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation
and Viktor Vekselberg - President of the Skolkovo Foundation.
The main idea of their presentation was that the city, called Skolkovo, would be built, and we will all be proud of it. Much has been done over the past few years. And now everyone understands that we can compete and produce innovative ideas and products. The five-year history of Skolkovo’s development confirms this.
In conclusion, Viktor Vekselberg added that all those present at the Forum are divided into two groups: there are owners who work in these buildings, and there are guests who have come here. I would like very much that most of the guests who came, next year become the owners. And despite all unbelievers, a real city will appear here that will live and create.
The TV crews present at the Forum seemed to be everywhere.
Because of the size of their equipment, they never went one at a time — only as a group.
The forum was what to shoot.
Emotional speeches of speakers were sometimes simply captivating.
On the stands exhibited various equipment.
Demonstrated samples of 3D printing of paintings.
It was possible to plunge into virtual reality,
and in the sky constantly flying planes.
SAP demonstrated its football analytics solution.
which was actively used by the German national team, which won at the recently held World Football Championship,
as well as the achievement in the field of Internet things - "smart" vending machine.
On the platform dedicated to robotics, it was possible to talk live with robots, who gladly supported any conversation, sang songs, told jokes, suggested they take a walk, and some even retire.
It was possible to play with them in real wooden chess, and not in any virtual ones.
Next to the robots they played real, not virtual football.
This KAMAZ participated in a huge number of international competitions,
his pilot was happy to share his impressions and invited everyone
sit inside the cabin.
Meanwhile, the Forum participants worked hard.
On the second day, the first graduates of Skolkovo University were congratulated on the main stage.
Among those who participated in the congratulations was Dmitry Medvedev.
Other guests were also present.
In addition, various discussions took place continuously in numerous halls at the Forum -
“Do big corporations need start-ups?”
“The Internet of Things: Myths and Reality”
other.
At the end of the Forum on the main stage were the finalists of the start-up competition,
whom the strict jury judged
then awarded the winners.
