Adding a non-standard USB port.

To work with the EeePC, I often have to use an EVDO modem. Connecting to ports located on the sides of the computer was not very convenient due to the fact that the modem was partially shielded by metal surfaces on which it was necessary to work in field conditions. Then I decided to add another port on the monitor cover. What came out of this can be seen in the photos.

For rework, a regular USB extension cable was used, from the outlet of which the external protective plastic was cut off. The saw blades are made with a needle file.

Inside the EeePC, wires are soldered to an unused port on the motherboard, which allows you to keep all existing ports functional.
