ODF and PDF will be "native" for Microsoft Office 2007
Microsoft announced that with the release of the second update for Office 2007, the list of file formats supported by this suite of office applications will be replenished with four new ones. They will be the XML Paper Specification (XPS), Portable Document Format (PDF) version 1.5, PDF / A and Open Document Format (ODF) version 1.1.
But support for Open XML (OOXML), which is approved as an ISO / IEC 29500 standard, will not appear in the second service pack for the “office”. An update to support Open XML Redmondts decided to postpone until the release of "Office 14", a new version of the office suite, due out in late 2009.
