Russian educational institutions “ate” 11 terabytes of traffic

The total volume of Internet traffic consumed by educational institutions in December 2006 amounted to 11 terabytes versus 87 gigabytes in September 2006, Prime-TASS reported. Thus, the consumption of traffic has increased by about 126 times.

At the end of 2006, 21,500 schools across the whole of Russia were connected to the Internet, and by September 2007 their number will increase 2.5 times. The total traffic of this year may reach 21 petabytes.
