Registration for the conference on computational linguistics "Dialogue" is open

From May 27 to 30, an international scientific conference on computational linguistics “Dialogue” will be held at the Russian State Humanitarian University (RSUH). Details about what “Dialogue” is and why ABBYY organizes this conference, we wrote here .

The main topics of this year's conference:

Analysis of the texts of social media . On the one hand, linguists are interested in a lively dynamic language of social networks, and on the other hand, these networks generate a huge amount of relevant information, including evaluative information that interests everyone, from politicians to creators of cameras and movies.
')
Problems of linking different linguistic resources created for different languages into a single information unit (the so-called Linked Data ).

Since Dialogue is an international conference, it is traditionally attended by world-class computer linguistics experts. . This year:

• Roberto Navigli (May 28, Thursday, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm) - an invited speaker on Linked Data; BabelNet project manager; University of Rome La Sapienza (Italy);

• Preslav Nakov - May 29, Friday, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm - one of the most respected specialists in the world will give a talk on the topic “Analysis of Social Media Texts”; Qatar Computing Research Institute (Qatar);

• Alan Chenki (Alan Cienki) - May 30, Saturday 15.30-16.30 - guest speaker on the topic “Multimodal corps”; Head of the Cognitive Laboratory of Polymodal Communication, MSLU; Professor of English Linguistics at the Free University of Amsterdam (Netherlands).

May 29th will be a "Technology Day" . This is a special event of the "Dialogue", designed not only for scientists and developers, but also for potential customers of linguistic technologies. On this day there will be presentations of developments for solving practical business problems and overview reports on selected market trends.

The day is concluded with a round table devoted this year to business intelligence technologies (and, in particular, visual analytics), big data: corporate and news collections of documents, social networking data, messaging services. If you are interested in these topics, we highly recommend attending the conference on May 29.

The tradition of "Dialogue" is the competition of automatic document analysis systems . This year, under the auspices of "Dialogue", systems testing the tonality of texts in Russian were tested. Competitions on the assessment of tonality are not the first year. The main task of the tests carried out earlier was the automatic analysis of the tonality of small texts in general - user feedback (about films, books, digital cameras) or opinions expressed in the form of direct or indirect speech (news). The main goal of the new testing cycle is to automatically assess tonality in relation to a given object and its specific properties. As the data offers reviews about restaurants, reviews about cars, tweets about banks or telecommunications companies.

The results of the tests will be summarized in the “Dialogue” (after the end of the conference we will publish them in the blog, stay tuned).

The detailed program of the conference is posted here .

You can register here , registration takes place until May 25. Terms of participation .
