Golden Telecom "will come" on long-distance communication on January 29

From January 29, Golden Telecom (GT) will begin to provide long-distance and international telephone services. The company will become the third player in the Russian long-distance market. Recall the other two players - Rostelecom and Interregional Transit Telecom (MTT).

GT tariffs for long-distance communication will be about 10% lower than those of Rostelecom, and international - by 10-65%. This statement was made by GT General Manager Jean-Pierre Vandromme, RIA Novosti reports. A top manager confirmed that the company plans to occupy 20% of the market for long-distance services by 2010, which by this time will reach $ 5 billion, according to his estimate.

Mr. Vandromm does not exclude that in the future it will be possible to introduce an unlimited tariff, at which long-distance and international calls will cost $ 20 per month. According to him, there is no such practice in Russia yet, but it exists in the world, and the company intends to focus on these trends.

He also added that for the sale of services to final consumers, the company creates a distribution network that will include more than 4 thousand agents and approximately 30 thousand points of sale throughout the country.

GT will provide long-distance services under the code "51", international - "56".
