Comparison of prices for European and Russian "clouds" with SSD-drives
Hello colleagues.
About 8 years ago, in 2007, when I was the happy owner of a stable ADSL channel at 8 Mbit / s, my phone was tormented by a certain saleswoman from Enforta for several days in a row with the aim of pushing their WiMax device at 2 Mbit / s. To my objections that I had everything for a long time and 4 times faster, she responded by inviting me to the office to “be sure to test and make sure that it would be faster”. In general, the girl was politely sent far, far away, and this article is dedicated to all “effective salesmen”.
In continuation of the article about the little-known European cloud hosting, I am sharing with you the price comparison "there" and "here", i.e. with Russian clouds. The Russian deployment becomes relevant due to the possible introduction in the fall of the requirement for storing data of citizens of the Russian Federation on servers in the Russian Federation.
This comparison involves hosters known to me, providing virtual / cloud servers with local or network SSD-drives and open prices on their sites. Possible very high quality and decent companies, hiding the prices of their services under the button "write to us and we will send you the prices" are ignored.

TL; DR;
Everything is verybad expensive.
Effective sales and marketing specialists are invited to the topic to prove that there are 2 of them more and faster than mine 8.
For comparison, I chose 4 configurations:
Also, all configurations include 1 Tb or a not less amount of traffic included in the tariff.
Personally, I am most interested in the Medium and Huge configurations.
All prices are taken from the sites of companies providing services. The assessment was carried out from May 15 to May 18, 2015. Only tariffs / companies with SSD disks were estimated. A dash in the results table indicates that there is no corresponding configuration or resources. All prices are converted to US dollars using the “Google xxx RUB in USD” method at the exchange rate for the indicated dates. In some fixed tariffs of some companies, a greater amount of a resource may be included while maintaining the amount of other resources within the estimated configuration.
The conclusion suggests a completely disappointing, obvious and captain: do not keep servers in the Russian Federation. Perhaps by the fall, by the time the law enters into force, the situation will change.

- Small : 1 core or 2 GHz CPU, 1 Gb RAM, 20 Gb SSD disk.
Possible use - placing a small website on the lamp-stack. - Medium : 2 cores or 4 GHz CPU, 2 Gb RAM, 45 Gb SSD disk.
Possible use - placement of an average corporate website or online store with an initial attendance at the lamp-stack. - Big : 4 cores or 8 GHz CPU, 8 Gb RAM, 150 Gb SSD disk.
Possible use - placing multiple sites on the lamp-stack or 1C-backend for an online store on Windows. - Huge : 8 cores or 16 GHz CPU, 16 Gb RAM, 300 Gb SSD disk.
Possible use - placement of 1C-backend for online or offline store on Windows.

As for us, the number of SSDs is limited to 100 GB only in a calculator, upon request, any number can be allocated. So the Big configuration will cost (at the rate of 49.3 - the current) $ 144, and Huge $ 302.
