Domain registrars are switching to rubles.

The registrar Ru-Center announced the transition to ruble tariffs from February 1. According to DomainBlog.ru , at first the announcement was as follows: “due to the introduction of a legislative ban on the use of information containing information about the value of goods (works, services) expressed in foreign currency, conventional units, as well as the obligation to express the price of goods (works, services) in rubles.

Obviously, customers threw questions at them — today the news looks like “in connection with the consideration of a legislative ban ...”, plus a link to “Draft federal law N 291027-4” is given. In addition to Ru-Center, Centrohost and R01 switched to rubles.

The transition to ruble prices is not beneficial to all end users. According to the .RU domain registration regulations , “the final price of the service for registering each second-level domain name in the RU domain (including as part of the service package) must not be less than 600 rubles or $ 19 (at the Central Bank rate).” Thus, if a company is not a VAT payer, it is more profitable for a buyer for 100 rubles to buy domains in a company whose price tag is expressed in dollars.
