Google Groups is also no longer beta

Following Blogger, another Google service is out of beta testing. The new version of Google Groups , tested since October 2006 at groups-beta.google.com, is officially presented today, including in Russian.

The service allows you to participate in groups created to discuss various issues. Unlike traditional forums, each message can (depending on the group settings) automatically sent to the email of all its members. Any user can create their own group, invite or add members to it, appoint moderators or group owners.

The new version significantly redesigned service design. Group owners can now customize the color scheme and welcome text. To collaborate directly on the group’s pages, you can create a web document and invite all participants to work on it. The service also provides 100 MB of storage space for files.
