All user data is protected by a login and password. Google Health fully supports the HIPAA medical data security standards adopted in 1996. To simplify the work of physicians with Google Health, the system supports the export of data from offline applications.

Google Search Engine has been developing Google Health for more than a year and a half. Google Health testing began in February 2008. Then 10 thousand patients of the Cleveland Clinic were connected to the service. For one and a half months, they entered health information into their virtual card.

The Google Health beta is currently running, with no ads. Google representatives stressed that although in the future the service will be used as an advertising platform, the number of advertisements will be kept to a minimum.
