What to do if there are no orders

Many newbies in freelancing are faced with the problem that initially there are no clients and it is not so easy to get them.

Therefore, it is often possible to observe that such people seek advice from their more experienced colleagues.

But not all do so. Many give up already at this stage, thinking that freelancing is difficult or that there are no normal orders in freelancing.

By the way, this is really difficult. But my story today is not about that.

So, what a newbie can do is useful when he enters the freelancing exchanges or just goes on the “freelancing path”.
  1. Participate in contests. It is not productive, but it will help you to “get a hand” on what customers want.
  2. Do better than others. It will help if you are really a pro. The work done can be put on the court of the public (for example, in a forum or blogs) - orders will probably appear immediately.
  3. Work on the profile. Enter the maximum information about yourself - fill in the portfolio, leave a mobile phone, email, skype, everything you can. Openness - a pledge that you did not throw and you can entrust the order. And be sure to complete the portfolio.
  4. Offer your services. Try in the forum, blogs or in communities to offer your services in the role of "apprentice". The best option for not very experienced freelancers in professional terms.
  5. Worry about your image. Place your bets wisely, intelligently. Do not flood, do not write outright nonsense and do not reach customers through private. This will increase your chances of getting the first orders.
  6. Take care of self-education. If there are no orders anyway and the points described above do not fit - maybe something with your skills. Try to “pump” them.
Successes!
