From Paypal to mini-states

Founder of Paypal, and now a hedge fund manager and a member of the Facebook Board of Directors Peter Thiel made the first contribution to the non-profit organization Seasteading Institute , whose main goal is to create offshore utopian states with different state models for testing optimal models for countries of the future. The institute will retool abandoned oil platforms for these same states after determining their business model and searching for individuals interested in this way of life. A good quote from the economist Friedman (grandson of the Nobel laureate Milton Friedman) involved in the project:
