Program of the 2nd International Roboforum

In 1932, Albert Einstein was absolutely sure that the atomic bomb was impossible. But already in 1933, President Eisenhower invited him to head the Manhattan project.

“I think there is a market for about five computers in the world,” thought IBM Head Thomas Watson in 1943. After 34 years, when computers were already widely spread in the scientific community and in manufacturing, their prospects were still doubted by the founder of Digital Equipment Ken Olsen: “There is no reason that anyone would want to keep a computer at home.” In 1980, the whole world considered the appearance of a personal computer a fantasy.
')
But already in 1985, 7.5 million computers were released in the world, in 2000 - already 132 million, and in 2013 - more than 520 million. Leading companies in the sector were in the top ten on the list of the most expensive corporations on the planet. Apple's capitalization from 1985 to 2015 increased 156 times, and Microsoft since its release on the stock exchange in 1990 - 208 times. At the same time, the computer and communication industries were the only ones, the price of which products declined against the background of improving its technical properties: the average hard disk memory of a personal computer increased by 2.6 million times in 1985–2014, the speed - 140 thousand times, and the price fell 6-8 times.

The information revolution has spread to mobile communications and the Internet. But in the same way, no one considered the appearance of cell phones on the streets even in 1980 possible. At the same time, already in 1985, the number of cellular in the world was 5 million, and now there are already 6 billion of them, 2.8 billion people use the Internet.

In 2015, many robots seem to be either fiction or children's toys. But today there are 20 million robots on the planet, their population is growing faster and faster (30% per year), and life expectancy has risen from 10 to 15 years. Robotics today is a market with an annual turnover of $ 30 billion. And only in the next two years, manufacturers are planning to sell already 30 million robots, and yet in 1998 there were only 200,000 robots!

Similarly speaking of robots, we, like Einstein, see only the tip of the iceberg. But on April 29 in the second pavilion of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements a chance to look behind the scenes of the cybernetics industry will appear. So to say, take a look at the "new Manhattan project."

The world's 30 leading experts will share their vision of the robotics world at Roboforum — solo homemade models and heads of large corporations, young inventors and leading figures of cybernetics, professors Berlki and Moscow entrepreneurs. Who to listen to whom to pay attention to? In the end, each of them created a unique robot and share their experience and knowledge. Choose your favorite by the picture and see the schedule. The entrance to the Roboforum is free + only on April 29 you can watch the entire exposition of the Rostantation for free .
