Two large Linux groups have joined together.

Linux-groups Open Source Developer Labs and Free Standards Group have announced their merger, writes CNet . The coalition led by Jim Zemlin is called the Linux Foundation.

“It makes sense to combine two organizations that perform similar functions,” said Jim Zemlin. Ideas International analyst Tony Iams agrees with him (Tony Iams), who believes that the combined company will be able to better address issues related to the development and promotion of Linux products than two separate organizations.
