P2P network for iPhone

An application called iSlsk allows iPhones and iTouch owners to share music, video and other files over the Soulseek network at medium speeds.
In the absence of other file-sharing possibilities in the iPhone, except for Wi-Fi and EDGE, the average download time for a music file is about 2-3 minutes , and half of the full-length film (apparently 350 MB) is about 20 minutes .
As soon as the files are uploaded to the iPhone or iTouch, the software automatically synchronizes them with the phone library, providing the user with “everything ready-made” for viewing / listening.

The first to test the application were journalists Wired . To use it, no account is required on the Soulseek network - you only need to enter an arbitrary username and password and, voa, your account has been created.
Downloading speed via Wi-Fi varies, on average, around 20 kb / s, and on EDGE - about 10 kb / s. But as in any P2P network, the speed indicator depends, first of all, on the connection of the one who downloads the file (sid).

Eric Castro, the developer of the program, assembled it from pieces of various OpenSource applications of the Soulseek network and the web client. He began development in February and, according to Eric, his first priority was to make the first download from the Soulseek network through his own iPhone.
