Intel Edison officially in Russia: pre-order and project competition

Hi, Habr! Starting today, you can officially purchase the Intel Edison board from the Russian GNU / LinuxCenter distributor. If you are interested in acquiring Intel Edison and developing a project based on this board, you can take part in a special contest “Geek-tour Intel Edison”. The authors of the best projects will travel to St. Petersburg for the GEEK Picnic festival (June 19-21) or the Intel IoT Roadshow hackathon (June 27-28).

What, where, how much

Checkout pre-order modules for Intel Edison, kits on its base and additional fees here . And when paying for the order before April 25, a 15% discount is valid (the order itself will be available after May 15).



Thus, the total cost is:

- 4434 rubles for the Intel Edison module

- 7004 rubles per set with Edison board for Arduino

- 5397 rubles per set with the Breakout Board fee



The site contains 4 versions of the Edison module: IoT, IoT Wearable and On-Board Antenna, Off-Board Antenna. What is the difference? The Wearable version of Edison has a less powerful Wi-Fi module, which increases battery life, but limits the range of Wi-Fi. Therefore, there are versions with external and built-in antenna. Please note that the Edison module with a built-in antenna also has a contact for an external antenna, but this contact will not work.

Geek-tour to Peter with Intel Edison

From April 13 to May 24, 2015, Intel together with the GNU / LinuxCenter holds a competition for IoT projects created on the basis of Intel Edison.



The main prizes are: a trip to the GEEK Picnic festival on June 19-21 or on the hackathon Intel IoT Roadshow on June 27-28 in St. Petersburg.

What do you need to participate in the competition?

1. By May 1, 2015, issue and pay for pre-order the Intel Edison module (or one of the kits) at Linuxcenter .
   
   
   
   
2. Write an article or make a video with a story about your project.
   
   
   
   Contestants will be able to receive Edison fees immediately after payment .
   
   
   
   
3. By May 24, send an application to konkurs@linuxcenter.ru , containing:
   
   - Pre-order number;
   
   - Link to your article or video;
   
   - Information about the membership of your team or the name of the employer (if you participate on behalf of the group or the employer, respectively).
