We invite you to the Security Olympiad at MEPhI

On April 18-20, the third All-Russian Student Information Security Olympiad will take place at the Faculty of Cybernetics and Information Security at MEPhI. Not only MEPI students, but also students from other universities aged 18-25 can take part in the competition.

What will happen

The Olympiad includes two tours in the following areas (categories):
')

• Round I (theoretical) - cryptology, software protection; protection of information from leakage through technical channels (tasks in acoustics, vibroacoustics, LF AEP, PEMIN);
• Round II (practical) - web application security and neutralization of malicious software.

Examples of the tasks that participants will face during the Olympiad can be found on the event website ( one , two ).

The winner and prize-winners of the Olympiad, ranked from 1 to 3 will be awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes from NRNU MEPI and sponsors of the event (including Positive Technologies). Also, the prizes will be awarded to students who showed high results in each of the nominations. In addition, the best teams of universities will be awarded (according to the results of the three best participants from the university).

The winner, prize-winners and laureates of the Olympiad will receive benefits for admission to the magistracy of the faculty "Cybernetics and Information Security" of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

How to participate

Students of higher educational institutions who are not older than 25 years old at the time of the event are invited to participate in the Olympiad. Undergraduate, specialist and master programs in 10.0x.0x (090xxx) and 09.0x.0x (230xxx) training courses are seriously interested in information protection and past competitive selection at the place of study (up to 4 people from the university).

To get to the Olympiad participants need to:

1. Register in the period from 03/03/2015 to 04/16/2015 on the event website: olymp.mephi.ru/is2015/;
2. Register in the same period on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science:
3. vso-mon.ru/prisoedinitsya;
4. Create an account at the Sberbank branch (participants who took 1, 2 and 3 places will receive a prize pool from the Ministry of Education and Science).

In addition, the representative of the university administration (contact person) must send to the Organizing Committee of the Olympiad ( olymp_is@mail.ru ) until 16.04.2015 an application for each participant representing the university signed by the rector / vice-rector / dean stamped by the university or faculty.

For the second year in a row, Positive Technologies has been a partner and sponsor of the Olympiad (here you can read the last year's announcement of the competition). This cooperation is part of our Positive Education education program, the goal of which is to support talented young people and increase the level of professional education in Russia.

Within the framework of this program, experts from Positive Technologies give lectures, hold seminars and webinars for students. In addition, within the framework of the International Forum Positive Hack Days organized by the company, a competition of young scientists Young School is held , the winners of which can present the results of their research to a wide professional audience.
