ThinkPHP Conference Announcement

We invite everyone to attend the next meeting for ThinkPHP # 11 developers, which will be held on April 17 in Kharkov. For the third year now, our company has been organizing meetings of PHP developers, where you can share your experience, learn from colleagues about certain solutions, and just chat with like-minded people in a relaxed atmosphere. Here we welcome everyone, both beginners and experienced developers.

This time three speakers will speak at ThinkPHP:

The theme of Taras Omelyanenko 's speech “Symfony2: Developing a RESTful API” Today RESTful is gaining more and more popularity when creating an API for servers, and therefore this report will be of interest to many programmers. Taras will talk about how the API is designed, which bundles can be used to speed up development. You will learn about common mistakes in shaping the structure of the application and how to avoid it. Also, the speaker will tell about validation and serialization of models, and in conclusion of the presentation - about the features and intricacies of API testing.
')
The next speaker at the meeting will be Mikhail Bodnarchuk , who will speak on the theme "Protest the Elephant!" (Features of testing PHP-projects) ". Testing is a very important step in the creation of any product, but many developers approach this "slipshod". At first, Mikhail will tell you why developers need tests at all, why they are far from being only modular. He will explain what can and cannot be tested, talk about existing approaches to building a test infrastructure, as well as what lies behind the terms TDD / BDD / moki / stubs, etc. Then Michael will conduct a brief overview of existing test frameworks: PHPUnit, PHPSpec, Codeception, Behat, describe their features, advantages and disadvantages. And at the end of the report, the Codeception framework intended for testing will be reviewed in detail.

And the third report, entitled “Building better PHP - HACK (HHVM)”, will be presented by Alexander Ganzha . For a year now, disputes about the advantages and disadvantages of the Hack language, from the moment of its appearance, have not abated. Therefore, Alexander decided to devote his speech to this actual topic. He will begin his presentation with a story about the “crutches” that are used in PHP, then go to the PHP 7 review, mentioning the shortcomings of the adopted RFC (and especially Return Type Hints). Then Alexander will talk about typing in Hack, about the strict-mode, and sorting out a static type analyzer in Hack. After that, he will discuss asynchronous PHP (AsyncMySQL, AsyncCurl) with listeners. And in conclusion, Alexander will bring all the pros and cons of using Hack in production, so that the audience will get a complete picture of the advantages and disadvantages of this tool.

In the old tradition of ThinkPHP, each speaker receives a gift of the ElePHPant plush mascot.
