Not everyone knows, and who knows, out of habit, ignores that the use of prefixes from the SI system is no longer correct for the designation of round binary numbers.

1 kilobyte is still 1000, not 1024 bytes. So hard drive manufacturers have long been deceiving no one, but they are writing the truth. In short - forget that 1024 bytes are 1 kilobyte - this is 1 kibibyte.

The International Electrotechnical Commission adopted such changes as far back as 1999, and GOST confirmed this in 2002, as number 8.417

“New” consoles are consonant with their brethren from the SI system - they start on the same syllable, and the second syllable always comes the letter combination “bi” - from the word binary (binary).
