Cybersquatters are still attentive to Beckham

With the news that David Beckham was joining the Los Angeles Galaxy club, domains containing variations of the words “Beckham” and “Galaxy” were immediately captured by cybersquatters.

According to the Infocenter , a cybersquatter from Milton registered almost all possible names with the word Galaxy that I could think of. Placing advertising links at these addresses, he now earns good money.

“It was one of the fastest manifestations of cybersquatting I’ve ever seen,” said Jonathan Robinson, director of NetNames. “David Beckham is an international brand, and undoubtedly there are many people who want to cash in on it.”
