Open courses Android Study Jams now in Moscow
The mobile industry is growing at an incredible rate. The number of orders for the development of applications and games is also growing. The market is sorely lacking in young, talented and ambitious mobile developers. This year, each of you has a chance to become one of them by taking part in Study Jams - free courses on developing mobile applications on the Android platform, which will be held in Moscow on the basis of the Free Swimming co-working center from April 7 to May 14.
In the middle of last year, we placed online courses on Android development at Udacity and offered GDG participants all over the world, with appropriate expertise, to pass them. Now the Moscow Google Developer Community (GDG) will hold a series of free lectures to help everyone learn the platform.
The course for developing mobile applications on the Google Android platform is designed for 7 lessons in which students will be taught to write and design Android applications from scratch before publishing to Google Play. Unlike the course on udacity, the course Stydy Jams is reduced in time without prejudice to basic knowledge. Training covers the following aspects of development: project structure, work in Android Studio, basic principles of user interface design, interaction with the network, data storage, adaptive layout for tablets and phones, the basics of Material Design .

Denis Neklyudov (@nekdenis) and Anton Puhonin will read the course. Denis more than four years developing applications for Android in the outsourcing companies SurfStudio and Pandra. He taught at the Faculty of Computer Science of the Voronezh State University. Previously, the organizer of the GDG Voronezh , now an active member of the Moscow GDG. Anton has extensive experience with Android expertise in SurfStudio. Currently working as a lead developer at Alpha Laboratory.
Classes will be held in the evening twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 19:00 to 20:30. Training involves about 60 hours of homework and seven practical classes with a teacher, each for 1.5 hours, as well as the protection of the final project. Training covers most aspects of development and requires the learner to be diligent and willing to intensively disassemble a new material. At the end of the successful training, the student will be able to create mobile applications for solving a huge number of tasks from a calculator to his social network.
At the end of the course, each student will select the project together with the lecturer and begin to create it. The students will have about three weeks to complete the final project, including the May holidays. The project will be defended at the Moscow office of Google with the participation of Moscow gurus of Android development, who will share tips and useful practices from their personal experience.
Requirements for students
Knowledge of English is at least at the level of reading technical documentation, knowledge of the basics of OOP. It is also desirable understanding of sql, programming skills in java, the ability to work with git or mercurial.
