WikiSeek simplifies Wikipedia search

The WikiSeek project presented today is intended to be a search engine that will provide a better search on Wikipedia.

WikiSeek was the first project of the American company SearchMe , established in 2005 and funded by Sequoia Capital. The new search engine indexes only the pages of Wikipedia, as well as those sites to which it refers in the relevant thematic articles. The category cloud located at the top of the search results page will allow you to refine your query. Firefox users can add WikiSeek to the list of search plugins.

The creators of WikiSeek claim that the new search engine indexes pages almost instantly after editing by a particular user. However, so far only the English version is available: no search is performed for the “Russian wiki segment”, although it can be expected (taking into account the “beta” prefix next to the new search engine name).

The main means of earning for WikiSeek will be advertising, but the main income from it will be sent to the Wikimedia Foundation - the organization that funds the development of Wikipedia.

The mysterious screenshot that appeared in the days when it became aware of the development of the search engine Wikiasari , as it now turns out, is actually a screenshot of WikiSeek. If you compare it with the WikiSeek search results pages, you can find only two differences - the logo and the search button at the top of the page.
