Yandex - we will think for you

Good afternoon. I want to share with the community an emerging and, unfortunately, no longer a new problem when using Yandex search from the Republic of Belarus and, if possible, receive comments from the company's employees themselves.

In the case of Yandex, the lion's share of users from the Republic of Belarus is trapped in the netnet. Even if you enter into the address bar yandex.ru with your hands, the cunning search engine will automatically redirect to the .by zone, with no options. Quiet, silent, elegant.

This post is positioned by me as the feedback of the company, and not as a heit or unreasonable criticism.

[UPD] A response was received from YandexSupport on Twitter. He is at the end of the publication.

Unfortunately yes. The very moment came when companies independently decide what is best for the user. In the Republic of Belarus, since the net is small in size, it is often necessary to refer to a search sample of the Russian network segment. The transition to a Google.ru or Yandex.ru search has been carried out for quite a long time by directly entering the address and the user could easily get to where he needed.

A fresh screenshot, when you go to google.com, everything works out correctly.

And then I wondered if they really care about me so much that they don’t let me get a search sample of a Russian-language Runet, or is this some kind of special policy of the Yandex unit in my country?

Unfortunately, this incredible feature of promoting localized services and markets is disabled only when you change your location in the Yandex settings for a Russian city:

And here we are virtually visiting, for example, in a non-rubber one:

Tadam! Yandex.ru is again available from my third world country, with the market and everything else. What is most surprising, when changing the location, I calmly get on Yandex.by, and then back to Yandex.ru.

For those who want to test: you can go in the settings to Minsk and learn all the hopelessness of the situation.

Gentlemen from Yandex, please tell me, why are you so rude to decide for users where to look for information and which resources to have access to? I understand regional linking, but if a person enters an address through .ru, then he most likely knows what he is doing, and if he doesn’t know, screw the notification that he turned "not there." Unfortunately, not everyone can think of “to go far” somewhere in the Russian Federation, and this is stupid and inconvenient.

Please return to Belarusians the right to choose, at least in this.

PS For those who suffer from Google's redirect from .com to .ru, comrade shifttstas in the comments suggests using www.google.com/ncr (No country redirect).

UPD1: Yandex support on Twitter offers virtual moves, i.e. use the "crutch".
