Providers ado.net entity framework

As you know, in the middle of the year some ado.net extensions will appear in service pack for .net framework 3.5 and VS2008. One of these will be the ado.net entity framework, which is now available for download in beta 3 here . At the moment, this is already a completely working implementation, which deserves the closest attention. She lacks some tools for easy modeling, but I hope everything will be in the final version.

The good news is that the recent development of ado.net on its blog reported that beta versions of providers were implemented for the current version of the entity framework:
- Core Lab has released ado.net provider for accessing Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLite databases;
- IBM has released its provider for DB2, IDS and U2 (to be honest, I don’t know the last two abbreviations);
- at the MySQL conference in Santa Clara Ball, access to MySQL through the entity framework was demonstrated;
- Npgsql has released a beta version of the provider for PostgreSQL that works with the Entity Framework.

It seems that LINQ and the Entity Framework are gaining more and more opportunities to become popular not only among MS SQL database developers, but also among all the other most common databases.
