Corona SDK has become free

The creators of the famous engine for developing cross-platform mobile applications Corona SDK on March 2 announced that from now on the Corona SDK will be free.

Four months ago, in November 2014, Corona was bought by FusePowered . Many predicted future changes in the company's policy and in the choice of its development paths. The question was, in what direction will these changes. And today it happened - the Crown announced that the features previously available only in paid subscriptions, will now be free.
Let us see what they are now offering us.

Previously, subscriptions to the Crown were as follows:

The Starter version was free and provided really very basic features (however, they lacked most of the functionality).
Now all the features Starter, Basic and Pro subscriptions combined into one and are available for free immediately after registration.

Enterprise subscriptions are still paid, but they are positioned not as Corona SDK, but as Corona Enterprise.

Users who already have an account, it is enough to log in to the Corona Simulator to update their status. This is done as follows:
1. Run the Corona Simulator

2. Go to File -> Preferences.

3. Click the button Deauthorize and Quit and restart the Corona Simulator to login again
4. When starting, enter your email and password
5. Observe the window with Pro subscription

In conclusion, it is worth noting that the Crown is not the only cross-platform mobile engine that opens the door to previously paid features. For example, the Unreal Engine also announced on March 2 that it is now available to everyone for free.
Competition in the market of mobile engines makes companies increasingly fight for developers who create a community.
All success in the development!
