When I put a bookmark on some article I need, located on Habré, I trust him. I expect this article to last here long enough.
Many articles that are bookmarked in a browser are in a certain way a reference book for me, which I often refer to.
But ... not so long ago discovered the fact that if someone is blocked on Habré for breaking the rules, all his articles and comments disappear.
A recent example:
IsisI understand that this could be done to prevent possible copyright claims to Habr from the side of the blocked one. But it can be done differently, although it will be a bit more troublesome for the administrators of Habr. It can be done so that articles blocked are completely removed from the system only if it is directly required to do so. After all, holding the article of a blocked (guilty) user Habr does not violate any laws. And if the requirement to remove the author's materials follows, then the Habr administrator will delete them.
But this option, of course, is more troublesome for admins than fully automatic. But here all readers of Habr are respected.
')
In addition, in this case, it would be better to specify a more informative entry than "UFO flew ...". For example: "Material removed at the request of the author."
Otherwise, there are posts like
this .
I don’t think that a blocked blogger will want to spoil public opinion about himself for the sake of his ambitions. He also live in the blogosphere. Therefore, I suppose such requests to remove their materials by the blocked user will be rare.
Of course, options are possible. For example, all articles from the personal blog of a blocked user are deleted automatically, and articles from subject blogs are deleted only at the request of the author. Also, when deleting an article, you can leave a chain of comments from other users under the same name, but without the text of the article itself.
And now ... part of Habr's traffic leaks to cross-blogging blogs. Those. if the author indicated a cross-post on his blog, then I would rather put a link to it than to Habr.
So, draw conclusions, dear administrators.
The page that we see when opening a blocked user
article :

If we search this article through a search, we will get a positive result, but the link to the article is not shown (the
Isis article “Secrets of successful headlines” was
searched for ):

But to be honest, I would like to put the bookmark exactly on the article placed on Habré, because there are, sometimes no less valuable than the article, comments by a wide range of professionals, and not on the cross-post of another site.
There is another question about the absence of a redirect to an article moved from one blog to another, but this is another song.
PS Thanks for the alternative suggestions of saving web-information.
But comments will not save it.
Those. if I saved the article at the very beginning, then the comments that will be posted later will remain unknown to me after removing such an article from Habr.
In addition, it is interesting how the deleted article looks like that placed by someone in the personal bookmarks of Habr Favorite? Will there also appear the inscription "UFO visited here"?
