I think many people will be interested to know how the inside of the publishing house is arranged, in particular, how the computer edition works, how new books are born, how they are “nursed”, shot, editors eat, etc.)
Fyi. The publishing house "Peter" has been operating since 1991 - already 24 years old! And everything once began with the publication of a small book-tutorial, and went, went ... Now we are one of the largest publishing houses in the CIS. Our books are published not only in Russia and Belarus, but also in Bulgaria, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, China, Ukraine. Every day there are 2-3 new items!
Virtually any work is routine, as it includes duties that need to be regularly performed especially without changing the order. We can boast - we have a varied routine: we have to read every day, follow the news IT-portals, read the announcements of new books, learn something new, etc.
How are our books born? It all starts with an idea - there is an awesome translation book or topic on which you need to do something. After that, the head of the editorial board turns on his analytical skills and begins to diligently investigate the situation in the book market - what is being sold and what is not. It is not a secret for anyone that, unfortunately, recently books are being sold worse, which is why from time to time you have to abandon some interesting books, as they turn out to be “narrow”. That is why we often conduct surveys on Habré to decide on the publication of the book. After the analysis, we hold a publishing board, where we discuss “boiled” ideas at a round table and a cup of tea. If we approve a book, then a stormy work begins - translation (or writing a book) / editing / proofreading / layout / cover making / printing and all sorts of nuances. As a result, we spend from 3 to 8 months on each book, depending on the complexity of the project.

Why all these words?
At the moment we have a vacancy open - the head of the editors of computer literature in St. Petersburg. Perhaps you are the very person we need. If you are interested, please write to the address -
