Hi, Habr!
Last January, the world learned that our company is buying a part of IBM's business. In particular, this concerned the business of servers built on the x86 architecture, including the System x blades, Flex System and BladeCenter, as well as the NeXtScale and iDataPlex servers and, of course, related software and hardware.

We think that many watched this event and waited for details. But soon the fairy tale affects, but it is not done soon. Such transactions are completed overnight - the process is long, requiring careful work from both the buyer and the seller. Just waiting for approval of the transaction by the Committee on Foreign Investment United States took 150 days. This was followed by regulatory audits, the resolution of numerous formalities, and the transition to more than 7,000 IBM employees in the Lenovo family was initiated.

On October 1, 2014, the transaction was officially completed, and since January 2015 in Russia, we have been working together as a team. IBM System x servers for rack and stand-alone enclosures, blade servers and x86 integrated systems BladeCenter and x86 Flex System, as well as related software and migration and maintenance services, have become the prerogative of the new Lenovo family. With Lenovo's strengths — scalability, performance, innovation, and a wide presence in various channels — coupled with IBM innovation, this transition is beneficial for everyone.
Just the other day, our big bosses held an internal meeting where they discussed the future development strategy of the Lenovo server segment.
While we will not publish the results of this meeting and now we will explain why!
We invite you to ask us questions about the future of the above server products, customer interaction with partners and the development of the industry (according to Lenovo) in general.
You can ask directly in the comments. We think that a couple of days will be enough.
Then we will combine the questions (and the answers to them) with the results of the summit meeting and publish them here in Habré.
Immediately make a reservation:- read the comments above, if any, it is possible that someone has already asked your question;
- Try to clearly formulate the question so that later there is no misunderstanding;
- we, of course, will try to answer everyone, but it may turn out that the answer will be a commercial secret, therefore we apologize in advance, as we simply cannot give such answers.
"Go!"
