Until now, most of the Blu-ray carriers produced have been used for high-resolution movies, but now these discs are finding new uses. Now they attract the close attention of musicians. Some of them, including AC / DC and Destiny's Child, have already released live recordings in HD quality, but that's not all.
In fact, Blu-ray has obvious advantages over CDs and DVDs: they hold more data, can be easily updated via the Internet, and provide theoretically better sound quality (although this cannot be determined by ear). At the same time, while listening to music, the user can freely explore other content on the discs.
On Blu-ray musicians can record without a trace all the materials that have accumulated in their creative life. For example, American rock singer Neil Young
announced the release of his discography for the years 1963-1972. It will be stamped on ten Blu-ray discs. In addition to sound and video, they will also contain scanned recordings made by a musician manually, as well as many other artifacts in digitized perfect quality.

As they become available, new content is downloaded directly from the Web: the entire interface for Young’s disc is made in Java. By the way, the veteran of rock announced the release of his unique musical project at the technology conference of Sun Microsystems.
