Synterra WiMAX collaborates with traffic police

Traffic flows on Volokolamskoye shosse are now regulated by an automated traffic management system. Eight control points are located in the test zone with a length of 7.5 km and connected by special communication channels of the Synterra WiMAX network. With the help of sensors, the system monitors the flow rate in real time and makes a decision about which signal to give to each traffic light, transmit “Vesti Moscow” .

Synterra reports that at every point in the system there is a standard external anti-vandal modem Synterra WiMAX, which transmits information at a speed of 1 Mbit / s to a special traffic police center. Automation can also determine the numbers of cars and transmit information about them to the traffic police in case of detection of a stolen car. In the near future, the project plans to develop similar zones on the Leningradsky and Schelkovskoe highways, as well as parts of the Moscow Ring Road.
