Last December, a record increase in spam volumes was observed. American company
Postini Inc. , which eliminates "garbage", filtering traffic, blocked 25 billion spam messages in the mail of 36,000 users. According to the company, this is an unprecedented figure, expressed in a 144% increase in spam compared to December 2005. In the total mass of all sent letters the share of garbage was 94%.
According to representatives of the company, such "bursts" can seriously interfere with labor productivity. So, according to their calculations, hypothetically losses of 15 minutes of daily “raking” spam mailings can cost large companies up to $ 3,200 per year from each employee.
