Recently, it has become increasingly popular to add the phrase “the target audience is a very interesting project” in the description of the start-up. But is it really? Often, the rationale for this phrase is a survey of friends of the creator of the project. And this, of course, is an irrelevant sample. And what to do if there is no money to order a “field” research? Here are some tips.
1. Determine your potential audience. According to external signs. Try to imagine how you will isolate her from the crowd.
2. Go to those metro stations or centers (shopping, entertainment - according to the situation) where your audience is most concerned.
3. Identify several questions that will stand at the very beginning of the questionnaire, and which will clearly cut off the respondents you do not need. For example, if you are looking for respondents who are interested in social networks, the first question should be “Did you hear about sites such as classmates and VKontakte”, and the second “How much time you spend on these sites per week”. On the first question, you cut off those who are not aware of the SS, and on the second - differentiate the respondents into those who simply heard, and those who use the volume you need.
4. In each question with response options there should be options about UFOs, but not in such an obvious form :) If the respondent chooses such an answer several times, his opinion should be stopped.
5. There should be several points where the survey will be conducted. The bigger, the better.
6. The survey should be conducted by interested parties. Perhaps you yourself. Do not shun black work, the correctness of the direction of your future activities and the development of the project depends on its result.
