Computer Engineering at Deutsches Museum

Deutsches Museum is the largest technology museum in Europe. In it there are almost all sections of modern technology and, in particular, the history of the development of computing technology. I want to present a few photos that may be of interest to a wide circle of readers.

This exhibition begins with a huge number of different calculators and mechanical computers, in particular, the logarithmic lines:

It also presents the famous Enigma:

The technique develops further and punch cards appear (I already worked with similar devices):

Few people know that the first electronic computer was created in Germany:

A few more tube computers:

Cray 1 was made from such components:

You can see a huge number of connecting wires:

Bah, yes, this is the same topology of an integrated circuit, the creation of which I have been working on for many years:

Evolution of semiconductor wafers:

Storage of information from different times:

Of course, this is only a small part of the exhibition, from which I tried to lay out the most interesting things. At this point I’m finishing up, if the community is interested, it will be possible to tell about the sections on aviation and space exploration.
