Cut by the most dynamically growing agencies / studios

Hi, Habr! Yesterday we published a lot of material about preparing KP to create a website on a combat example, which everyone seemed to have taken well (even entered the best day, thank you). And today we are returning to our main topic of research of the market for web development and other digital services, such is the profile of activity.

As you may know, on the Ruward project we have aggregated a huge amount of data, different ratings for all segments of the agency market, published in the entire history of the industry (we currently have 55 different ratings, not counting their annual versions and more than 1,700 companies in the database ). We use this information to form different pivot charts, and of other analytics.

At some point, we realized that we have a lot of information, and we never take into account one of the indicators when calculating the methods and formulas - the dynamics of growth of companies in various charts from year to year. Thus, the idea was to make a slice, which would include not standard leaders, who, frankly, have already become boring to many — and often flash everywhere — but studios / agencies that show the most dynamic growth.

We spent quite some time conjuring over the methodology , it turned out to be rather loaded, but quite transparent (anyone can check the correctness of the calculation of the places for the slice). We took all the ratings that came out during 2013 - and compared the dynamics with 2012 (where there were analogues). Added a number of correction factors to make the cut relevant.

As a result, we received a list of agency market companies that grew most rapidly in all local charts during the 2012-2013 period (2014 has not yet been taken, since not all have published their tops):

Here is the final cut of 100 companies , which we, as marketers, called with a slight touch of pathos "Digital Breakthrough".

For obvious reasons, the advantage was gained not by the traditional market leaders (they are so high, it’s difficult for them to grow by many positions), but by companies that abruptly soared in a large number of local tops during the reporting period. The top ten of this distribution includes:

I am glad that in the general list there were many new studios and agencies (however, quite a lot of well-known players) who do not shine so often - that was the purpose of making this cut. The experiment, in my opinion, was rather curious. Be sure to repeat it in 2015 (for the 2014-2013 segment).
