Beta new 2GIS under Windows Phone (offline!)

Some believe that in an era of ubiquitous Wi-Fi, LTE and cloud technologies, offline applications can be abandoned. Really existing people who know that the Internet is not everywhere and not always, they will not agree with them. More than three thousand reviews in the Windows Phone Store with requests for offline 2GIS confirm this.

Even users of computers, where, it would seem, can not be no Internet, asked us to make an offline version for Mac and Linux. We are just testing it . On mobile devices, connectivity issues are much more common.

Offline
What we were asked for in a few thousand reviews in the WP Store since the first release. A new application works anywhere, in any circumstances. Enough discrimination on a platform basis.

New design
We once again rethought the scenarios of working with a reference book and a map on a mobile device. Took into account the experience gained in the development of new 2GIS for computers. And after they made the interface, following platform guidelines and making the UX convenient and comfortable.

Detailed 3D map
The new three-dimensional engine - smooth when rotating, approaching or distancing the map and no delays when tapping into the map. In combination with exhaustive detailing up to fences, gates and monuments, along with 3D-models of famous buildings - this is direct fire!

Up-to-date and detailed directory of organizations
Address, time of work, contacts and in general everything that is needed to select an organization. From payment methods and types of cuisine to the number of seats and the availability of Wi-Fi. In addition to filters, reviews and photos help choose the right company. Thanks to this knowledge of companies, we know how to find a "cafe with Georgian cuisine".

Background updates
Initially, 2GIS required two types of updates: for the application itself and, separately, for the map with the directory. As you understand, it is inconvenient. If the first was solved automatically through the application, the second was a headache. The installation of a fresh base took minutes, and under unsuccessful circumstances, tens of minutes. Now 2GIS is updated in the background, without requiring special attention.
