Merchium is a designer of online stores, opened with the support of Yandex.Money in August of this year .
The service is free . Instead of taking money from users, we decided to bet on the community of developers and on their partnership contributions (although we also made a paid tariff, according to numerous requests from customers).
It was clear to us from the very beginning - in order to attract developers, we need to provide them with convenient tools for development and a platform for selling our works.
For this, we created the Market Merchium . While it is available only by invitation and will be filled with themes and applications behind the scenes, but in early 2015 we will open it for all users of Merchium.
The conditions for partners are as transparent as possible: with each sold topic they receive 70% of its value, and with each application 80%. Money can be any legal entity or individual entrepreneur with Russian citizenship (and in the future, citizenship will not be necessary).
Applications work through the API entirely on the developer’s side (the Shopify marketplace is similarly arranged). You can write applications in any language, but PHP already has a handy library , so starting it will be easier.
A theme is a bunch of CSS styles and layout; both can be edited and packaged directly in the admin panel of Merchium.
Especially for application developers and theme designers, we wrote detailed documentation and opened a public forum where we would be happy to answer their questions (there we will also be happy to hear constructive criticism and suggestions for improving development tools).

Recently we launched the international version of the Merchium , and it will also have its own marketplace. Applications and themes will be easily transferred between the two markets, which means that the partners of Merchium work on two markets at once, without making double efforts.
The international market is wide and rich, moreover, prices are there in dollars, and now they are very helpful. Russian-speaking partners have an advantage - the documentation in Russian is already there , and it is only written in English.
