So the day has come when a cold sweat appears on the forehead at the sight of the Windows BSOD
Blue screen of death on the display in the high-speed passenger elevator of the 42-storey business center ...
It is difficult to realize, more and more often, administration is penetrating our everyday life. And it would be fun to call an emergency lift to restart the OS in the elevator. Prior to that, in the same elevator, I instinctively tried to find a mouse or touchscreen when I saw this screen:
')
Or is it even better to call an emergency elevator like this: “Please tell me what is the IP and battery in the elevator? I myself will fix it from a smartphone - so it will be faster ”. Seriously, after looking better, I really wanted to connect there from my workplace through a vnc client. I wonder how to determine what the elevator has an external IP address and is it not behind NATOM?!
Sometimes the activex component that plays the video in a frame fails, but the floor counter on the display works. Sometimes both displays in the cab do not work and it is not clear on which floor the elevator stopped.
Worse than a BSOD in an elevator, probably, just the same blue screen on the aircraft autopilot from a joke:
It turns out the stewardess to the passengers and says:
- Dear passengers, the most
reliable navigation system running Windows 2000 ...
Inside the panic begins.
Passengers hurriedly leave the plane. The last is Bill Gates.
- Why are you not in a hurry?
- And why should I hurry? We won't take off anyway.
Jokes are jokes, but many of these high-speed elevators often crack the speaker at the door and cannot close the door leaves tightly from the first 2 times. The sash closing sensor does not work and the elevator tries to close several times. This happens on each of the floors where it stops. It spoils the beginning of the working day or the afternoon when you hurry up to the floor in the office.
Well, sometimes it does not stop running checkdisk in the elevator, especially when he politely asks.
I have been watching the elevator for a year and a half, and what I haven’t yet seen is OS updates. Maybe there is an unsupportable XP version of the operating system!?
I wish you all a great day and that windows in the elevator car will “fall” less often!
PS I understand that some readers believe that the article is not for Habr, but still the number of views and comments suggests that I amused many people before the weekend. Yes, and the article turned out to be more popular than the more technical article published last Tuesday.
The next article I plan to write about the winning topic "Writing a simple search engine, extracting information from web pages." Well, to whom the enterprise is more interesting and interested slides from my report at the SECR conference I can tell you about Elasticsearch / Logstash / Kibana.
