FOM: there are 26.3 million Internet users in Russia

According to the latest survey results of the Public Opinion Foundation, in the fall of 2006, the Internet audience in Russia grew by 300 thousand people, reaching 26.3 million or 23% of the country's population. These are people who have appeared online at least once in the last 6 months. In the summer, the same figure was 26 million people. The increase among active Internet users who visit the Web once or more per week was 1 million. In total, there are 17 million such users in the country.

4.9 million Internet users are concentrated in Moscow. Further, in terms of the internet population of residents, the Volga region has 4.4 million users.
