Invite a friend!

LJ gives the diary author the opportunity to “invite a friend” (friends) by sending emails from a page in the control panel. It seems to me that this is an absolutely useless feature. How many people will prefer this robotic invitation method instead of writing a regular email or a banal message thrown on ICQ?
