Victory Day is coming. I want to promote a small project "
Do you remember ", launched by my colleague and comrade Andrei Ryabykh. The project is dedicated to the memory of Victory Day and consists in the distribution of virtual St. George ribbons to our sites.
')
In general, all patriotic undertakings from our state look fake and ridiculous, because the organizers themselves do not care. But with St. George ribbons came out differently. I don’t know how it is in other cities, and in St. Petersburg for the last few years, during the May holidays, such ribbons were distributed to car owners at gas stations, and I hung it on my car. And when I meet other cars on the road with such a ribbon, I am pleased that there are people behind the wheel with whom I am now connected with something. In general, a good action turned out, sincere, not cynical.
We IT people are cosmopolitans and therefore especially indifferent to our official pseudo-patriotism. But Victory Day is not a virtual incomprehensible national holiday, it is a day of memory and respect for our real grandparents.
Therefore, if this holiday means something to you - you can join the action and hang the St. George ribbon on your website. We have already joined.
