Published the first in Russia ranking of regional web-studios in terms of turnover

For the first time, the magazine “ Business Quarter ” ranked the largest web developers outside the two capitals, and the basis of the rating was the real turnover of the companies. Until now, all such studies were based on the method of expert assessments.



Every year the number of different ratings designed to highlight the web development market is getting bigger and bigger. The industry is gaining momentum and it is simply impossible to ignore it in the study of the IT market. However, until recently, the company turnover was not used in rating. In part, this was due to the laboriousness of collecting and evaluating information, in part with the opacity of the market. In addition, all the existing ratings of web studios have a very weak attention to the development of regional markets. The new rating is devoid of these shortcomings. The study is based on data from the Business Quarter network of business magazines, which is published in 8 largest million-plus cities and focuses on covering local market events.

At the first stage of creating the rating, the experts of the analytical group of the Business Magazines network of business magazines analyzed open sources and conducted an expert survey of the leading players in local markets for website development. Based on the data obtained, the range of companies that were invited to provide information for participation in the TOP list was determined. At the second stage, participants were sent questionnaires requesting specific characteristics of the activity. The information obtained by the analytical group has been re-checked. The main ranking indicator is the turnover from the development of sites and related services in 2007, mln rubles.

The rating shows that the development of the site development market is quite different from region to region. But at the same time there is no such gap between the capital and local companies as, for example, in the field of system integration, where the turnover of the federal and largest regional players differ by an order of magnitude.
