Archives of the London Court is now online

On April 28, the archival materials of the most notorious cases in the history of the London Central Criminal Court were presented to the court of Internet users, completely free of charge. This unique electronic archive includes more than 210 thousand high-profile criminal cases that were handled in court from 1674 to 1913.

Professor Robert Shoemaker (Robert Shoemaker), one of the project directors, said: "People from all over the world can now visit the site completely free of charge and get a full picture of all sorts of crimes: from pickpocketing and theft to kidnapping and murder."

This resource is a joint venture of the universities of Sheffield and Hertfordshire, as well as the Open University. It contains more than 120 million words and 195 thousand digital images.
